Who, What & Why

Let me introduce myself“Robert.”I have studied various disciplines, including art and IT.

With art I like to experiment and dabble in various media, Oils, Watercolour, Printmaking and Pargeting (plaster relief sculpted om walls). In fact I like to look at and try anything new.

With regards to IT I work with both frontend and backend programming languages and platforms. Although I have utilized vaious methods in the past, I am always keen to learn/research others, at present I am playing with NextJS and Tailwind. I have fun with a various databases SQL, MySql, Postgres, MongpDB etc

Past Times

Over the years I have had a plethora of jobs, from clock restoration/repair, sales rep, and interior decorator (specialising in paint effect finishes and pargeting) to newspapers, programming, and painting pictures with various others in between.

Need to change

Then a friend of mine passed away, and during the lead-up to that sad event, one thing that stuck out was all the things he had wanted to do in the future.
So shocked by his passing, I decided to try to return to art painting and printmaking in case I missed the opportunity, by waiting.

Steps taken and to come
Firstly, I have had to refreash my skills to update and improve the style and quality I have in mind, working on the application of the media and preparation of the surface later this year I will get some equipment I will need to start printmaking, etching etc.
